Jenny Fang
graphic novel author & illustrator For kids
Creating children's books wasn’t part of my plan, but stories kept bubbling in my head as I was working in tech as a product manager. In 2023, I took a sabbatical to put those stories on paper and found my sweet spot in children’s literature. Now, storytelling is a way for me to express myself.
Anyone who knows me knows - my relationship with my brother is special, but we're also brother and sister. He's oblivious, intentionally and unintentionally 🙄 I care too much and am passive aggressive 😛 Drawing from our siblingship, I transform our dynamic into stories with immersive worlds and charming characters.
Bay Area based, I'm on a mission to talk relationships through storytelling. Resilience, confidence, empathy, good communication, independence -- all the things we wish for ourselves and children. We learn these things through our interactions. I learned from seeing others embody them. And so, I write for children to have more examples of dynamic, loving relationships so they can cultivate their own.
In between creating, I'm with friends, family, my capoeira community and lotsss of Chinese food. The soul must be nourished 😋
